About Skout

How Skout started

Skout Inc. was founded in 2007 to develop software products that take online social interaction further than anyone had thought possible in the past. We wanted to create a community that would help mobile device users communicate better with friends, with business contacts -- and even with strangers who might become friends if you only had a chance to meet them. Since then millions of people have tried our apps. There's always something happening on Skout: We seem to have come up with the hottest, newest, and most fun way ever to meet people through your iPhone or Android (or even through your computer), especially if you want to meet people across the room or a few blocks away, not halfway around the world.

Is Skout going to save the planet?

Probably not. We just want to make it easier for people to find each other, have fun, flirt and get to know someone better before meeting them f2f. Ideally, the idea of meeting someone nearby as opposed to far away might save you considerable travel time, which in turn is good for the environment, right?
